Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk Discuss Social Media

Image
Mark Zuckerberg: Elon, it's good to see you again. Elon Musk: Likewise, Mark. It's been a while. Mark Zuckerberg: I know, it has. We've been pretty busy, both of us. Elon Musk: That's for sure. I'm still trying to figure out how to get to Mars, and you're still trying to figure out how to keep people from hating you. Mark Zuckerberg: (laughs) That's one way of putting it. Elon Musk: So, how are we doing, Mark? Are we still competing with each other? Mark Zuckerberg: We are, but it's a friendly competition. We both want to make the world a better place, and we both think social media can play a big role in that. Elon Musk: I agree. Social media has the potential to connect people and share ideas in ways that were never before possible. But it also has the potential to be used for harm. Mark Zuckerberg: That's why it's so important that we use social media responsibly. We need to make sure that it's a force for good, not for evil. Elon Musk: I ...

Oh Elon, What Did You Do?

Image
Twitter once was a beacon of hope,  Now a wasteland of darkness and dope.  Where once we could share our thoughts and our dreams,  Now we're only left with Elon's screams. He has taken our platform and made it his own,  Renaming it "X" as if it were a throne.  He sits upon it and tweets his decrees,  While we all cower in fear of his knees. He has changed the rules, he has changed the game,  And now we are all just his little drones.  We can't speak out, we can't even complain,  For he will silence us with a single keystroke. Oh, Twitter, what have you become?  A twisted parody of what you once were.  A shadow of your former self Now nothing more than a tool for Elon's wealth. He has taken you from us, and there is nothing we can do.  We are all just pawns in his twisted game.  We are all just X's in his grand scheme.    -Unlikely Buddha

The Uncertainty Principle of Tweeting, a story

Image
Steve was a theoretical physicist with a post doctorate degree. He was also a bit of a comic, and he loved to post funny things on his Twitter account, @UnlikelyBuddha One day, Steve was browsing Twitter when he came across a post by a young mother. The post was about how her toddler had just learned the word "quantum," and he was now running around the house saying, "Quantum! Quantum!" Steve found this post hilarious, and he retweeted it with the comment, "In a parallel universe, my toddler is running around the house saying, 'Buddha! Buddha!'" His girlfriend, who was a PhD in animal behavior, saw his tweet and laughed. "That's funny," she said. "But in a parallel universe, your toddler might not even be a toddler. He might be a cat, or a dog, or even a bird." "That's true," said Steve. "In a parallel universe, anything is possible. My toddler could be anything." "Even a theoretical physicist?...

Catherine, a Poem

Image
Through the circles of Hell I did descend, And saw many a sinner condemned to their fate, But none so vile as the one I now name:  Cat, the liar, the cheat, the false-hearted mate Her eyes were as brown as the earth she trod, And her hair was as blonde as the sun above, But her heart was as black as the night that shrouds The souls of the damned in their eternal love. She lied to me, she betrayed me, she stole All that I had, and then left me for dead. But I will not rest until she is brought to heel, And I see her face twisted in pain and dread. For she is a liar, and liars must pay For their sins in the depths of the deepest Hell. And when she dies, she will be cast down To the lowest circle, where she will dwell In eternal torment, with all the other liars, And she will never know peace or respite. So let this be a warning to all who would Betray the trust of those who love them so dearly   - Unlikely Buddha ©2023

The Quality of New Physics Students Has Declined

Image
In recent years, there has been a decline in the quality of new physics students. This decline is due to a number of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited classroom time and online training for high school students. As a result, many students entering college are not well-prepared for the rigors of physics courses. One way to address this problem is to require all freshmen to attend basic classes designed to fill in the gaps in their knowledge on math, science, and English writing. These classes could be offered during the summer or during the first semester of college. They would provide students with the foundation they need to succeed in more advanced physics courses . In addition to requiring basic classes, colleges could also offer more support to students who are struggling in physics. This support could include tutoring, supplemental instruction, and peer mentoring. Colleges could also work with high schools to ensure that students are well-prepared for physics...

You walk in beauty

Image
You walk in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in your aspect and your  eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o’er your face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express, How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o’er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! Here are the formulas necessary to incorporate the Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics into the complex plane, in logical order

Image
Define the complex plane. The complex plane is a two-dimensional plane where each point is represented by a complex number. A complex number is a number of the form a + bi, where a and b are real numbers, and i is an imaginary unit that satisfies i^2 = -1. Map spatial coordinates to the complex plane. We can map spatial coordinates to the complex plane by using the real part of the complex number to represent the x-coordinate and the imaginary part of the complex number to represent the y-coordinate. For example, the point (1, 2) in the real plane would be mapped to the complex number 1 + 2i in the complex plane. Map temporal coordinates to the complex plane. We can map temporal coordinates to the complex plane by using the real part of the complex number to represent the time t, and the imaginary part of the complex number to represent the Planck constant h. For example, the time t = 1 second would be mapped to the complex number 1 + ih in the complex plane. Consider a quantum system ...
