Trump’s Shameful Betrayal of America’s 1%: Our Veterans Deserve Better

America’s veterans represent just 1% of our population, yet they shoulder 100% of the burden of defending our freedoms. 

These brave men and women sacrifice their time, health, and sometimes their lives to protect this nation. They deserve our unwavering appreciation and support—not betrayal. 

Donald Trump’s decision to slash over 80,000 jobs from the Department of Veterans Affairs is a disgraceful attack on those who have given everything for this country. 

These cuts will cripple essential services like healthcare, disability claims processing, crisis support, and education benefits—lifelines that veterans rely on after their service. 

Even worse, many of the employees being laid off are veterans themselves, compounding the harm.

Our veterans fought for us. They endured hardship, separation from their families, and unimaginable challenges to protect our freedoms.

 Now, it’s our turn to fight for them. This nation made a promise to care for its heroes when they returned home. That promise must be kept—not discarded for political games.

We must stand together to demand better for the 1% who have given so much for us all. 

Our veterans deserve respect, dignity, and the full support of a grateful nation—not abandonment by those in power.
