A small band of Radical Republicans have removed Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. As before, it may take weeks or months to choose a new speaker and If it does, it will have a significant impact on Congress.

A small band of Radical Republicans led by the likes of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene: Malcontent Trumpsters Trying to Disrupt Congress, have removed Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House.

As before, it may take weeks or months to choose a new speaker and If it does, it will have a significant impact on Congress.

First, it will mean that the House will not be able to function effectively. The speaker is the leader of the House, and he or she is responsible for setting the agenda, presiding over debates, and appointing members to committees. Without a speaker, the House will not be able to pass any legislation or conduct any oversight of the executive branch.

Second, it will create uncertainty and instability in the government. My wife was only 32 when she died of metastatic breast cancer

It was only 5 years after we found a lump in her breast.  She was a laboratory technologist in the hospital lab at the time and our medical insurance was good.  To give her the best chance, they gave her both chemotherapy and radiation to the area where the tumor had been found after surgery.  Our son was 1 1/2 years old at the time of the diagnosis and spent a lot of time at his grandmother's house during her treatments.  I went with her each time she received chemo and went through her nausea and vomiting with her after each course.
